Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 13, Tiverton to Beam Bridge.

Such an exciting day today, we left the ups and downs of Devon and Cornwall and headed along the The Grand Western Canal towards our finish point in Somerset. The first view of the canal was amazing as we knew it meant lots of lovely flat walking ahead!

We were surprised at how quiet it was and after seeing a few narrow boats moored up at the start we didn’t see any moving along the canal. However, it was still very interesting with lots of ducks and swans. Lots of benches too!

It’s great to now be in Somerset, our third county.

  1. Lovely Somerset, well done! Went to see Josh yesterday in London so glad I didn’t have to walk it! Just walking round the pubs was bad enough, I really do have to admire you two!
