Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 5, Puente la Reina to Estella.

We set out just as the sun was rising today, this allowed us some lovely early morning views. Our route took us up and down to walk through beautiful small villages and towns.

Looking back at Puente la Reina.

One of the squares in Maneru. In many of the villages a main feature was also the large historic doors.

Cirauqui had lots of interesting small and narrow streets.

Approaching Lorca.

In between each village we’ve walked on well made wide paths that took us mainly past vineyards and olive groves. These paths were often lined with beautiful red poppies.

Finally we are in Estella, a much larger town but just as beautiful as the others we have passed through. It’s been a really interesting day of walking.
