Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 61, Inveroran to Kinlochleven.

It’s been a very long and very wet day. We set off very early this morning in the rain. Our route took us through remote fells. The rain continued with low cloud all around us. This made all the scenery very dramatic.

We eventually came to well known Glencoe and passed through it towards the route to Kinlochleven. Glencoe is such a beautiful place. It’s a steep ascent to cross over to Kinlochleven. This means following The Devil’s Staircase, a zig zag path to the top. Once at the summit there are the most amazing views back towards Glencoe.

We’ve only met two ‘End to End’ folk the whole time we have been walking. Today, within the space of an hour we met two more! First of all Ian who was doing LEJOG and then Jack who was doing JOGLE. Matt was keeping Jack company for the West Highland Way. Shortly after this we met Tony and Euan who were collecting in the flags from The Glencoe Challenge. It was great to catch up with everyone.

We thought the rain had stopped as we descended into Kinlochleven but this wasn’t to be and we got wet all over again! This made for a very tough finish after a long day
