Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 63, Kinlochleven to Fort William.

So, we wondered if it would happen, we hoped it wouldn’t happen….it did happen. One of us got Covid, you can guess who it is by looking at the pictures! Yes, after taking a rest day yesterday Kevin walked solo while, under the weather, Janet rested up. The plan is that Kevin will carry on as we are so near to JOG and Janet will start walking again when she feels well enough. We’ll then do the bit Janet missed as soon as possible afterwards.

Kevin’s day started with a steep uphill out of Kinlochleven. One of the upsides of having five out of six days of almost non stop rain on The West Highland Way has been the amazing waterfalls. There was a strong North Westerly wind today, rain again too, which meant Kevin was walking into the wind and rain. At least this keeps away the midges! As there was so much mist it was tricky to take lots of photos.

The tracks throughout today were good but due  to the rain some were under water.

Finally came the finish to The West Highland Way in Fort William town centre.

  1. Well done Kevin keeping the challenge alive! Janet, hope you feel better again tomorrow, you will soon be back on track.

  2. Sorry to hear your situation. Get well soon Janet. Hope your symptoms aren’t too bad. Keep plodding Kevin. I did part of that section early April. Out and back from Fort William. I really liked the countryside there.
