Today has been our first entire day of walking beside a road. However, the route was flat, the road very quiet, there was a great path and there were many beautiful views. The whole distance passed through swathes of farmland, all being continually maintained by tractors, irrigation and the rotavator we spotted. Many of the farms are huge but there seems to still be some smaller patches of land being individually maintained. The other feature of today has been churches, particularly the church of Santa Maria in Villalcazar de Sirga, which can be seen for a great distance before entering the village. Finally we passed the magnificent San Zoilo monastery. It’s been a day of farms, churches, blue sky and luckily some clouds too.
