Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 17, Carrion de los Condes to Calzadilla de la Cueza.

So, this has been the flattest walk so far and we made really good time along the lovely wide path. We’re still at a height of 2,800ft and still on a wide open plateau with views for miles and miles. It’s also still all about farmland,  today it was entirely huge fields with a wide range of crops. The fields are often divided with strategically placed rows of poplar trees. In the distance it is possible to see the, ever present, wind farms and also distant mountains. We’re now in the remote village of Calzadilla de la Cueza with a population of 60!
