We left historic Sahagun and walked over the stone bridge to join our path for the day.
Today has been a day of walking on footpaths next to both large and small roads. On any long distance route there will be days like this and we were happy that this was flat and took us through some interesting villages and farms.
The soil is, again, very rich and there is much evidence of spray irrigation.
We also saw roses for the first time and small vineyards have returned.
It has certainly been a day of contrast. Vineyards, roses and huge agricultural machinery in action. Alongside this tiny churches, small vegetable patches being watered by hand and many houses built of mud, stones and straw.
