Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 29, Compton to Gailey Island.

We resumed our walk on the disused railway line in torrential rain. Luckily the start was under trees. This was followed by time again on The Staffordshire Worcestershire Canal. The ducks were very happy with the rain. Us less so! Lovely to see lots of narrow boats again today. There were also some really beautiful gardens. Just as we left the canal we passed under a bridge with some brightly coloured street art. The reflections looked amazing too.

Our final part of the day was on the very busy A449. Once again, there were great pavements all the way but this was definitely the noisiest and busiest road we have been on. Luckily the rain had stopped and there were some lovely views across barley fields. Short walk today and rest day tomorrow!
