Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 31, Gailey Island to Stone.

It’s been lovely spending family time with Kate, George, Arron, April and Leo. We’ve certainly been spoilt and had lots of fun too! It was hard to leave but great to have so many happy memories to take with us on our journey.

It was back on The Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal first thing this morning. It was just so beautiful and quiet with cool perfect walking weather. Lots of interesting narrow boats and also lovely gardens again. It did get a bit noisy when we walked under the M6!

We’d pretty much forgotten about the Jubilee celebrations but today it felt as if there was bunting along the whole route. Don’t think it was for us!

The day ended on the A34 with road works for most of the way but they didn’t impact on us as we, once again, had great paths to walk on. Some lovely views too.

As we’ve been travelling along we’ve talked to so many people who have asked us if we are doing the walk for charity. So, because of this we’ve decided to set up a Just Giving page for Oakhaven Hospice. This is a charity we have supported in the past. There is a link below. If you would like to donate to Oakhaven you can use this link to go to our Just Giving page. Thank you!

  1. Great nature and countryside photos guys they inspired me to have a bit of a garden makeover. I got this landscape gardener to have a look but he said he couldn’t do anything because my garden was portrait.
