Janet and Kevin’s Very Big Walk

Day 29, Triacastela to Sarria.

We set out from Triacastela on a really good path through woodlands and then soon came across amazing views. Another feature of this early part of the walk was a huge scallop shell sculpture that reflected in the pond below it.

Everything feels very different now we are heading more into Galicia. There is grey stone and some people have commented that there is a feel of being in England. The drystone walling is certainly reminiscent of some parts of Derbyshire and The Lakes. Maybe not the sunshine though!

It was great, towards the end of today’s walk, to see the horse we mentioned before passing by, we actually followed it right into Sarria!

It’s been a lovely day’s walking and we’ve chatted to lots of people. It’s very noticeable that everyone is walking more slowly now! Rest day tomorrow and then just five days to Santiago.
